The world in just a (few) bite(s).
An easily missed little restaurant which is seated in between The Cathay and Plaza Singapura is how I would describe Charly T’s as a very first impression. The very common reply would be “oh, that little restaurant, I’ve walk passed before but have yet to try it.”
Yes, that’s the one. Charly T’s interior design gives passer by a false impression that...

Sugar Cookies
I’ve finally got down to blogging about this sugar cookie recipe of mine.
Ingredients:
1 slab of 250g soft butter
1 and 1/4 cups of caster sugar
1 large egg yolk
2 tsp of vanilla essence
1/2 tsp of almond essence
3 cups of sifted flour
2 tsp of baking powder
Choose your favourite cookie cutters. I got mine from NTUC & IKEA!
It’s really important to sift the flour to...

Western Chow - Where Oldies Are Goodies →
Western Chow is a fusion of Western & Hainanese cuisines. I was invited to dinner by OpenRice Singapore. Situated in cozy Simpang Bedok, the restaurant offers value-for-money dishes & fanciful drinks. The portions are generous and the staff are friendly.
My favourite dish is the Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Seafood (SGD6.50)! My favourite drink is the Root Beer Float. Let the photos do the...

Good Food For A Good Cause
This quaint and cosy restaurant is situated at the left exterior lobby of 8Q SAM (the latest wing of Singapore Art Museum). I went there on a Friday evening with my girlfriends and making a reservation is a must for this popular joint. The restaurant was fully-booked that night! There is no service charge at FFT, only GST.

Kichn: Cooking Up A Storm In The Kitchen
It was a weekday night when Amanda and I decided to check out Kichn for dinner. That was my first time there and I’ve heard many good reviews about Kichn and I could not wait to discover some hidden treasures for myself at Albert Court where the restaurant is located.
The place was not difficult to find as it’s right beside...

Marutama Ra-men
When @Reivad brought me here for the first time, I was quite skeptical as he proclaimed that this is the best ramen in Singapore. ( He personally tried Ippudo and still prefers this)
The tiny restaurant is located at ‘The Central’ and it resides among the many japanese restaurants there on the 3rd level with its dark brown exterior and orange logo.
The menu is really simple with...

Food Review: Omakase dinner at Nagomi
submitted by @alkanphel
| Nagomi Restaurant | 5 Koek Road #02-22 Cuppage Plaza | Tel: 67324300 | Mon to Sat | 6pm to 12am |
Great omakase dinner at Nagomi, which is a small and hidden Japanese eatery at Cuppage Plaza. The chef Nada Satoru used to have a normal menu but he changed it into an omakase menu based on the fresh and seasonal ingredients from Japan.
The place is dimly lit and you have...

Blissful Cafe - Bak Kut Teh w Memories.
Seated quietly slightly off one of Singapore’s favorite shopping area is where Blissful Cafe is.
Although it is not exactly very accessible by foot nor by buses or MRT, crowd never seems to be a problem for them. Office workers around the area sure give this place a good rating as you can tell from the crowd during the lunch time and no doubt that was how I first came to know about this...

Food review: Omakase dinner at the Standing Sushi...
submitted by @alkanphel
I went for an omakase dinner at the Standing Sushi Bar this time round!
1st course: Vermicelli with spicy sesame oil dressing
I thought this was chuuka kurage (jellyfish) at first since this dressing is usually used with jellyfish for an appetizer.
2nd course: Sashimi moriawase
Lovely plate of fresh sashimi. There’s mekajiki, sake, maguro, hamachi and hotate....

Food Review: Lunch at Cugini
submitted by @alkanphel
There is this little Italian place called Cugini located at 87 Club Street which was highly recommended for its pasta so I decided to go and give it a try.
It was definitely the right choice because the pasta was amazing. Not surprised since it was made by 2 Italians called Mauro and Gerri.
I had penne alla carbonara, which was simply superb. The best carbonara...
